Owner-operated
Alberta Estate Transitions is owner-operated by Jem Mathieson from Sherwood Park. The person you meet at the first walk-through is the person responsible for managing your project through to the end.
Jem Mathieson brings together a background in professional organizing, counselling and project management. Her experience includes helping clients navigate downsizing, decluttering and household moves, along with eight years in counselling, where she developed strong skills in communication, conflict resolution and supporting people through complex situations.
As a project manager, Jem coordinates people, schedules, service providers and details to keep complicated projects moving forward. She brings these skills together to provide calm, organized and practical support through major household transitions. Alberta Estate Transitions is insured.
A household transition is a project with a great many moving parts and very few of them are the belongings themselves. Someone has to hold the sequence, keep the family informed, book and supervise the independent providers, and make sure decisions are recorded rather than assumed. That is the role Alberta Estate Transitions fills.
Discretion matters as much as organization. This work happens inside people’s homes, often at difficult moments, and among family members who do not always agree. The approach is calm, private and methodical, and the same whether the client is a family, an executor or a professional who has made an introduction.
Because the business is owner-operated, there is no handover to a crew lead you have never met and no shifting point of contact. You deal with one person, and that person is accountable for the plan, the schedule and the outcome.
Based in Sherwood Park, working across Edmonton, Sherwood Park and Strathcona County, and in St. Albert, Beaumont, Leduc, Fort Saskatchewan, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain and surrounding communities as appropriate.
Alberta Estate Transitions manages the physical and logistical side of a household transition. It is not a junk-removal company, a moving company, an auction house or an appraisal firm, and it does not act as executor, trustee or estate administrator or provide legal, tax or accounting advice.
